Featured Article The lifetime and 12-month prevalence of eating disorders (ED) and potential risk factors were assessed in a study cohort of 5,320 UK women. The prevalence of ED in women in their 40s and 50s was greater than expected, at 3.6%, and only a minor fraction had sought help or received treatment. Childhood life events and interpersonal sensitivity were associated with all EDs.
