We'd like to share with you some of our top articles of 2014 so far. Trials encompasses all aspects of the performance and findings of randomised controlled trials in health and with our new Impact Factor of 2.12, we would like to encourage you to submit your next manuscript. The journal publishes articles on general trial methodology as well as protocols, commentaries and traditional results papers - regardless of outcome or significance of findings.

The following open access articles analyse some key methodological approaches and assess current principles of clinical trials, their conclusions provide guidance for future studies.
