Featured Article Antidepressant use and cognitive decline in community-dwelling elderly people – The Three-City Cohort Late-life depression is commonly associated with cognitive impairment. In a community-based cohort study of 7381 elderly participants, the effects of antidepressant treatment on cognitive performance were studied over a 10-year period. Five cognitive domains were assessed during follow-up, and no significant differences were observed between antidepressant users and non-users. The results of this study indicate that there is no evidence for an association between antidepressant use and post-treatment cognitive decline in elderly people.
